The pursuit of good health is confounding. There are too many mixed messages, and it is difficult to know what is true. In this day and age, we are inundated with information on new diets, special products, or health clubs that promise quick results with magical new technology.
However, these programs and products do not take your individual needs and desires into consideration. They may be dangerous, and usually are ineffective. They may even work for a while - until you become bored, dissatisfied, or injured. With respect to health clubs, they often are not the right place for people who have a medical condition that requires special attention and expertise.
Our expertise offers you an alternative to the mass market approach to fitness. Each of our clients receives a carefully-designed program that meets his/her needs - not just as they are now, but as they develop. Everything we do is evidence-based, incorporating training techniques that have been shown by the literature to be safe and effective. Programs are changed on a regular basis, as goals are achieved.
Our exercise programs are comprehensive lifestyle plans, including strength training, flexibility training, cardiovascular conditioning, established nutritional principles, and stress management. When you work with us, you learn proper technique and the reasons why each exercise is important. Your program, based on your needs and objectives, provides the maximum return for the goals you set for yourself. The basis of all our programs is balance – meaning that there is not one component of exercise that is more important than another. All aspects of fitness are important, working synergistically so you can achieve a better quality of life.
To get results, we need your cooperation, enthusiasm and commitment. We work with our clients as a team, giving 100 per cent of our energy. During your workouts, we ask you to be as open as possible – about how you feel, and any questions you have. The personal training process works most effectively if you are actively involved in the process.
To help set you up for success, we provide you with a copy of your program complete with computer-generated diagrams so you can actually remember the exercises while doing them on your own! You will never be cast out to sea when we’re not together – our Exercise Specialists always make time for e-mail encouragement or a quick phone conversation. Whether you are a beginning exerciser, post rehabilitation client, or recreational athlete, we re-evaluate your program regularly. This constant supervision and adjustment is an essential feature of high quality personal fitness training.
